Registrar
Also known as: SpR, StR, Specialty registrar
A doctor in specialty training, senior to foundation and core trainees, who often provides day-to-day senior cover on a ward or in a department.
The registrar is usually your first port of call for escalation in many stations — "I would discuss this with my registrar" is frequently the safe answer.
